The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced that it will host the '2026 Global Cosmetics Regulatory Authority Summit (GCORAS 2026)' at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul on September 7, commemorating 'Cosmetics Day'. This summit serves as a crucial platform to support the global expansion of domestic cosmetics companies and to discuss international cooperation on cosmetic regulations and strategies for mutual growth.
At this GCORAS, global regulatory trends, including changes in cosmetic regulations in the European Union (EU), Australia, and New Zealand, as well as case studies on artificial intelligence (AI)-powered safety assessments, will be key agenda items. A consultation session on international regulations, involving regulatory experts and industry representatives from 8 countries/regions, will also be held, facilitating practical information exchange.
In the rapidly changing global beauty market environment, proactive responses to such regulatory changes and efforts to ensure safety through the integration of new technologies like AI will become even more crucial for the sustained growth of K-Beauty.
